Bachelor Butter Chicken | बैचलर बटर चिकन | Chef Harpal Singh
Butter Chicken is a beloved dish that originated in Delhi in the late 1940s, created by innovative chefs looking to repurpose leftover tandoori chicken. Its rich, creamy tomato-based sauce has made it a favorite in Indian cuisine and beyond, reflecting both tradition and creativity. I went a step ahead and made this delicious recipe with sauce for bachelors/spinachs so that they can make it easily.

Ingredients Quantity
Tomato ketchup 2 cup
Red chilli sauce ½ cup
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Ginger juliennes 1 inch
Green chilli slit 4-5 no
Butter 100 gram
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Green cardamom powder ½ tsp
Kasuri methi 1 tsp
Cream ¼ cup
Oil 1 tbsp
Chicken with bones 500 gram
Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Fresh coriander chopped 1 tbsp
Kasuri methi 1 tsp
Coriander chopped for garnish
Kasuri methi for garnish
Method :=
1. Place a kadai on medium flame and add tomato ketchup and red chilli sauce mix well.
2. Add ginger garlic paste, ginger juliennes, green chilli slit, butter, red chilli powder, green cardamom powder, kasuri methi and cream mix well.
3. Place a grill pan on medium flame and heat the oil.
4. In a large mixing bowl and chicken, ginger garlic paste, salt and red chilli powder mixed this up well.
5. Now add the chicken to a grilling pan and grill them well both side.
6. Add grilled chicken in a gravy and mix well.
7. Now pour some gravy on the grill pan and mix well. Then pour it into the kadai.
8. Place a lid and cook for 15 minutes.
9. Add chopped coriander and kasuri methi mix well.
10. Now side out in serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander and kasuri methi.
11. Enjoy the hot and sweet & sour bachelor butter chicken.

Sorry, Chef. Although I have not tasted anything like this, I beg to disagree with the amount of ketchup you have used in the dish. I am quite convinced it would be anything but butter chicken. You can call it Ketchup Chicken.
So Balakrishna there is a restaurant called Grand Central in Chembur who does this and I have seen this with my own eyes. The restaurant is running from last 35 years and is popular. The cooks when they showed me what they do also shocked me first time but they have been doing this. We also have authentic butter chicken recipe
